Giuseppe Veneziano: Un'artista contro, Cortina d'Ampezzo
Past exhibition
Overview
A storyteller and witness to the reality of our century, able to bring to life the lustres of art in our time through a transversal and disenchanted narrative
The Contini Art Gallery presents the solo exhibition of Giuseppe Veneziano, entitled 'An artist against...'. Veneziano is a painter who combines art history and modern news in his works, offering a unique perspective on reality through a disenchanted narrative. His works reinterpret historical events, common sayings and contemporary iconic images, using irony and paradox. His art is influenced by Pop-Art and Greco-Roman Classicism. He uses vivid colours that immerse the viewer in a dreamlike world. He shows a great passion for Renaissance and Baroque art history, reinterpreting sacred works in a modern key. His work is appreciated by critics but has also aroused controversy for some provocative works. He is considered a narrator of contemporary reality and an important exponent of the 'Italian New Pop' and the 'Italian Newbrow' group.
