Pablo Atchugarry: The Movement of Light, Venice
Atchugarry proposes masterpieces which combine classic inspiration with an absolute contemporary rendering.
Atchugarry's sculptures offer themselves to the viewer as abstract, intangible figures, then unfold into depictions inspired by the natural elements, whether floral or mineral, or transfigure themselves into a bold synthesis that seems to embody the perpetual flow of time over things.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the monumental sculpture in Carrara statuary marble Serenissima, a tribute to the city of Venice, is on display at the garden of Palazzo Corner in Ca' Granda, the seat of the Prefecture. Some sculptures, including the sculptural group Soñando la Paz are exhibited at the Casanova Gardens of the Hotel Cipriani in Venice. The City of Pietrasanta also, in collaboration with the Contini Art Gallery in Venice, the Versiliana Foundation and START, is presenting The Evolution of a Dream exhibition in Piazza Duomo, in the Church and Cloister of Sant'Agostino, with a selection of monumental marble and bronze sculptures.
