Cesetti: Mostra antologica dal 1925 al 1987, Venice
Giuseppe Cesetti at eighty-five, as fresh as at the beginning of his long wanderings, is in Venice to attend his finest painting exhibition. The Academy of Fine Arts has offered for this exhibition one of the city's treasures: one of the six "Scuole grandi," that of S. Giovanni Evangelista, where, at the end of the 15th century, a solemn encounter between the Gothic and early Renaissance styles took place. The staircase to access the review of works was built by Mauro Coducci and is one of the most famous in Venice, just before the "Scala d'Oro" of the Doge's Palace. Giuseppe Cesetti willingly combines the ancient with the modern and knows how to assess the value of these steps one by one.
