Igor Mitoraj: Il Tempo degli Eroi, Viareggio

The Contini Art Gallery, which has always carried out collaborations on the national territory, encouraging artistic and cultural dialogue, will propose in this prestigious context the installation - in collaboration with the Municipality of Viareggio, the Department of Culture and Atelier Mitoraj - of two wonderful monumental sculptures by the Polish-born sculptor who had made Italy his chosen land.

Ikaro Blu and Ikaria Grande, are bearers of a meaning that goes far beyond their physical presence, of a meaning so profound that it transcends time and refers back to eternity. In Mitorajsi's sculptures one can recognize true modern heroes, with the extraordinary gift of creating a link between past and present while projecting beyond, into the future. The monumental sculptures, which can be admired until January 16, 2022, act as spokesmen for the artist's reflections on the passage of time while simultaneously leading one to reflect on the permanence of human nature.
