Biography
Beauty of abstraction is its freedom, its balance, its serenity, its harmony
Among the most important sculptresses in the contemporary art world, Sophia Vari was born in 1940 in Attica (Greece), in a village named Vari, to a Greek father and a Hungarian mother. Sophia Vari's work, in addition to being refined and elegant, presents itself with a synthetic compendium. Its poetic sense does not dissimulate a cultural and visual unity with historical Avant-garde - neither in its form of reference and tribute - but is a true re-elaboration of a model that still today in the third millennium functions. Sophia Vari tells us something very important: today Avant-garde, or that which remains of it, has become stylish. Anything else has been lost along the way.
