Pablo Atchugarry Uruguayan, b. 23/08/1954

Pablo Atchugarry was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on 23 August 1954. The artist is internationally renowned for his stunning monumental sculptures which can be admired across a number of public places throughout Europe and South America. In 2002 he received the Michelangelo Award in Carrara for special recognition of his artistic career. The following year, he participated in the 50th Biennial of Venice with the composition Soñando la paz (Dreaming of Peace) a sculptural work of 8 monumental pieces realized in Carrara marble and marble from Bardiglio Garfagnano. Atchugarry lives and works in Lecco (Italy) and in Manantiales (Uruguay), where he is committed to the development of the Pablo Atchugarry Foundation and its international sculpture park.
